Mr. Darren Hugill, joined The British School, Alexandria in April 2021 as the whole school Principal. He has held leadership positions internationally and in the UK, and has steered many schools towards outstanding, through his work as a National Leader in Education and Consultant Headteacher. Mr. Hugill studied Chemistry and Mathematics at University, then went on to get his PGCE, Advanced Diploma and his National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH). Mr. Hugill has taught Chemistry, Physics and Maths in the USA, Spain, Kazakhstan, Romania, the Isle of Man, the UK, and looks forward to settling into Alexandria, as well as taking the school to the next level. He has two daughters, one a primary teacher and the other still at school in the UK. He has many interests including cooking/baking, DIY, history and live music/theatre.
Mrs Nichelle Jackson joined the Senior School in September 2004 as an English teacher and has held the positions of Examinations Officer, Head of Pastoral, Head of Senior School and is now Vice-Principal. Mrs Jackson studied languages and economics at university before going on to do a PGCE and later an MA in the teaching of English. She has taught in Britain, France and Egypt, teaching children of all ages and also adults.
Head of Prep School
Ms Costello has been teaching for 20 years now. She taught adult education part time before returning to Birmingham University to complete her PGCE in primary education. She has been teaching in a range of inner city Birmingham schools, including two special measures schools. She has taught all year groups from nursery to Year 6 and quite literally jumped from Year 6 to nursery! Which was a bit of a shock!
She has had a variety of responsibilities whilst at the various schools. She has been part of the middle and senior leadership teams whilst coordinating maths, science, Music, ICT, transition (yr 6 to 7) and PE. She has been a school-based tutor for trainee teachers and mentored NQTs. She became an Advanced Skill Teacher and supported teachers in other schools. Her current role has been KS 1 phase leader, yr 2 class teacher, maths subject leader and Assistant Head teacher. She has been working at this school for 6 years and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Ms Costello and her partner are looking forward to spreading our wings and living in Egypt. Their children are now grown up and independent.
When she is not at school, she enjoys reading, having recently purchased a kindle (which is fabulous), and spending time with her partner, family and friends.
Head of Key Stage 1
Miss Fuller is from the Birmingham area of the West Midlands in the UK where she lives with her large extended family. Before starting at BSA she taught for 12 years in schools within the Birmingham area, teaching in FS1, FS2 and Year 1 as well as leading RWI and KS1. Miss Fuller has a passion for Early Education and believes that children need a strong foundation in order to build a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.
Miss Fuller enjoys reading, travelling and working out when she has the time.
Head of External Affairs
Amira Bahgat is an Education Consultant and a Teacher Trainer with more than 14 years of experience in education and business development. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Egypt and her degree in Business from Ain Shams University.
As an Education Consultant her main concern is to ensure the effective help in developing learning products that teachers and schools use.
Before starting the consultation career, Amira spent 9 years teaching in international schools and working at well-known corporations, her experience include different fields, excellent knowledge in the customer care environment, sales and business development besides the experience in teaching children as well as adults through participating in teaching English Language .
She has worked in one of the international pre-schools in Dubai between 2014 and 2015.
Holds Professional Educators degree in Educational Leadership from the American University in Cairo in addition to many other PD certificates and is a life coach certified.
Worked as an educational director and supervisor for years.
She participated in writing and preparing for several text books on phonics and math for young learners.

Hafez El Agaty
Mr. Hafez ElAgaty joined the school in Feb 2016 as the School Head of Finance, he studied accounting at Faculty of Commerce ,Alexandria University , and has worked in several multinational companies. Including the National Iron & steel Co., as Chief Accountant, in Messer Griesheim-GmBH-Germany- Egypt Branch as Finance & Admin.Manager & in Pharco Pharmaceuticals as Financial Sector Chief Officer & Board Member. He is married and has two children, his daughter is working in BLOM Bank – Egypt- , and his son is a student in the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport , Marketing Section.
