Debating Success for The British School in London
The British School, Alexandria visited Radnor House School, Twickenham, London on Monday and won the debating competition but only by the narrowest of margins.
The debate on leaders who've changed the world was prepared for in great detail by both teams. Speakers were confident, articulate and impressed with their passionate delivery.
Students from both schools enjoyed watching the debate. It's hoped that this will become an annual event.

Recently, students from Years 9 and 11 took part in the BSME Debating Tournament held at St Christopher’s School, Bahrain. This was the second year for this Tournament and the first time for our school to take part. The students debated nine motions, some of which they knew a couple of weeks in advance and some for which they only had an hour’s preparation; for some debates we were the Proposition and for others the Opposition. In addition, the accompanying teachers (Mr Abbott and Mrs Jackson) judged debates.

Creating the foundations in Architectural club
Monday was the first day of the BSA Pre Prep Architectural club.
This term we will be focussing on sketching and planning skills, which the children will then apply to build their own models.
This week they looked at all the structures that they could see at the Abou Ella villa. They sketched different angles and looked carefully at the details.
Next week the children will plan a design for a new piece of playground equipment and then build it out of lego.
We hope to eventually plan a new layout for their dream school!
