We are pleased to announce that on Tuesday 19th of December, the Principal and Governors were invited by the Minister of Education, to a formal signing of a protocol between the British School, Alexandria and the Ministry of Education. This is a real achievement and is something the school has been working on for several years. This gives the school a solid footing for years to come, now that we will be formally recognised by the authorities and gives us a proper legal standing.
The protocol we have signed has been the result of several months of negotiation and we are pleased with the result. It is a protocol related to the Cultural Agreement between the UK and Egypt and is unique to the British School, Alexandria and is different to the standard protocol followed by other International schools. It reflects the distinctive character of the British School and allows us the freedom to determine our own curriculum, teaching methods, management structures, fee structure and staffing.
