Saturday 26th October was the 71st Anniversay of El Alamein, marked by a ceremony at the El Alamein site attended by veterans flown in from UK, New Zealand and Australia, and by the laying of wreaths by dignitaries from a wealth of nations.
The students from The British School, Alexandria constructed their own personal wreath from poppies made individually by children aged 3 to 18. It was formally laid by a group of students who represented all ages and both boys and girls. It was a special moment whereby the sacrifices made were recognised not only by those of the generation who were involved, but also by representatives of today´s youth, and which attracted the attention of the world wide media present. We were very proud of our students.
