Year 10-11 Kafr Abdou Fieldwork

Mon, 10/12/2012 - 15:06 -- Lydia Makram

As part of our fieldwork skills for IGCSE Geography, the students had to investigate local people's perceptions of a natural hazard. An earthquake seemed to be the most appropriate example after the famous 1992 incident in Cairo. The students asked them questionnaires about whether they felt that Egypt was prepared for an earthquake and asked whether people were afraid of a future earthquake. This primary data has now been analysed and evaluated to teach the students the skills needed in Geography fieldwork, which is a key aspect of the course.
